Proposal to restrict use of 'forever chemicals' in Europe

In April, I talked to RTE's Morning Ireland radio show about our legislative amendment voted in parliament, co-signed by 60 MEPs, to ban toxic PFAS chemicals in cosmetics.

So-called 'forever chemicals', PFAS occurs in beauty cosmetics like lipstick, mascara, foundation, but also in skin care products like moisturisers, and in hair care products.

They are added to make cosmetics smooth and waterproof and tend to be found in cheaper makeup and so affect younger people proportionately more.
